Dr Briony Wood BDS DPDS

Briony Wood qualified from the London University in 1990. She was introduced to General Practice by a years vocational training in Exeter. After an associate position in Weston-Super-Mare she became owner of a 2 surgery private practice in Shaftesbury, and developed this into a 5 surgery practice before selling it in 2005.She then worked in a practice with a special interest in sedation prior to joining the team at Tisbury Dental Centre.

Briony has always been active in postgraduate education, having been a vocational trainer for new graduates for 2 years. She obtained a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies in 1996, taking modules in Oral surgery, Prosthetics, Non-vital tooth, Periodontology and Business skills. She then enrolled for a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry at Eastman Hospital undertaking a 2 year certificate course in all aspects of restorative dentistry, a years course in Dental Materials and a module in partial dentures taught by Maurice Faigenblum. She has undertaken SAAD training in all sedation techniques, and studied on-line critical appraisal of papers by Michael Wise.

She is now near to completion of a Diploma in Implant Dentistry (including the advanced techniques) at the Royal College of Surgeons, under the tuition of well-respected implantologists Ashok Sethi, Professsor Nentwig and Professor Weber. She is a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
