Dental implants offer a safe and secure way of replacing natural teeth. Implants can be used to replace from one to all missing teeth. The implants may be used to permanently fix missing teeth in the mouth, they may alternatively firmly secure a removable denture or bridge which otherwise would be impossibly loose.

The implant is made of titanium and the product we use is the Ankylos system (see www.dentsply-friadent.com/en/525.htm). Once placed in the jaw it becomes rigidly fixed to the jawbone by process called osseointergration. The size and number of implants used varies according to the needs of each patient.

We assess your needs with a variety of processes, including x-rays, study models and sometimes CT scans. We use bone-grafting techniques from intra oral sites and sinus grafting when necessary to gain the optimal result.

The implants are either left to integrate before being restored, or in suitable situations, are restored immediately. Dental implants are suitable for all ages as long as the person is over 18 and in relatively good health.

The implants are placed under local anaesthesia. If necessary we offer sedation.
