John Barton (RCS.ENG) qualified in Liverpool in 1966, and after a period as a hospital houseman went into general practice.
He has developed practices in Wincanton and Salisbury as well as Tisbury. John has a wealth of experience in all fields of dentistry, with particular interests in gum disiase, surgery and implant placement. He has been successfully using dental implants to restore patients dentition since 1994.
John first completed a Branemark course during 1993-1994 at Guys Hospital. John has since completed many courses, studying at the Branemark clinic in Gothenburg in 1999, at Cologne, Frankfurt and Tubingen. He was one of the first UK operators to complete a "Diploma in Implant Dentistry" awarded by the "Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (FGDP) at the Royal College of Surgeons, London. He was a tutor in Implantology at the "Royal College of Surgeons" in London.

Paul Begley qualified as a dental surgeon in 1980 from Liverpool University. He worked at Liverpool and Bristol Dental Hospitals, and then at Arrowe Park and Plymouth General Hospitals, and gained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1984.
He then studied at the Institute for Dental Surgery and The Eastman Dental Hospital from 1984 to 1986 gaining the degree of MSc. in Conservative Dentistry, and completed Higher Specialist Training in Restorative Dentistry in 1991 while a Lecturer at the University of Leeds.
Paul is on the General Dental Council’s Specialist Register in Restorative Dentistry, and has operated specialist practices in Endodontics and Restorative dentistry since 1993. He offers a referral service in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry and Implant Dentistry.
Paul has lectured to dental practitioners groups on the mainland and overseas. The surgery in Tisbury is fully equipped for Endodontic, Restorative and Implant procedures and is manned for the whole working week. The surgical microscope, essential for many of the finely detailed procedures, is in everyday use, as are ultrasonics and other aids to successful operative treatment.

Claudia gained her degree in dentistry at the University of Dresden in 1991. She spent four years working for an all female dental surgery in Freiburg, next to the ‘Black Forest’. During this time she gained her Dr Med by writing a scientific dissertation in Microbiology.
Claudia moved with her English husband to Scotland in 1996 and worked there full time for 4 years. She then took the opportunity to work as a private dentist for the expatriate community in Nairobi, Kenya whilst running a safari business together with her husband.
Although Kenya is a wonderful country Claudia and her husband decided to return to the UK to bring up their children in the beautiful English countryside. In order to keep abreast of all the recent developments in dental medicine, Claudia regularly attends lectures and seminars in both Germany and the UK.
She is especially interested in cosmetic dentistry and can offer tooth whitening, white fillings, white crowns, but also more complex denture work, including precision attachments and telescopic dentures.
Claudia, who has been practicing at our practice since 2005, is also offering Dermal Fillers, Botulinum treatments (also known as the brand Botox) In Line invisible braces and Somnowell. Many people ask us, why does a dentist offer this type of treatment and as we explain, dentists have spent many years learning about facial anatomy and who better than someone that understands this along with dentistry which also offers many types of treatment to help achieve optimum facial aesthetics. Luke Lucas is a general dentist with over twenty years of clinical experience. By using the most up to date techniques to diagnose, prevent and treat dental disease, Luke aims to help patients achieve a healthy, comfortable mouth for life.
Luke qualified at Guys Hospital London in 1993 and obtained the general dental practitioners diploma in 1996 at the royal college of surgeons. He completed his dental implant training in Boston, USA, in 2002 and is experienced in the use of a variety of implant systems.
Proficient in dental acupuncture, lasers and invisible braces Luke is able to treat a wide range of dental needs. Luke splits his clinical time between [PRACTICE_NAME] and Haynes Dental & Implant Clinic (another Portman practice) in London.
Having moved to East Devon from London with his wife and two children in 2013 Luke and his family are now very settled in the south west. He is a keen tennis, squash, table tennis and badminton player and has competed in UK Racketlon competitions in the past.
